HELLO: "What happened to your blog?"

Saturday, April 26, 2008 0 comments

What do you mean, "What happened to my blog?"

My boyfriend asked me this question last night before we went to bed. Apparently, he saw my blog open on his laptop and decided to take a look. (He doesn't normally check it out because he's clueless about the internet.)

He pointed something out: "You're writing about celebrities now! What happen to fashion? Isn't that what you're supposed to be doing for your internship?"

I looked at him, blankly. Never before has he called me out on anything fashion-related. Usually it's him who's always so confused.

I told him that with my school schedule right now, the easiest thing for me to blog about is celebrities. (They're so disposable, right?) He asked me about the "little project" I wanted to do for my blog, but I told him I had to put it off. Again, school's killing me right now. Spraining my ankle didn't help either.

Point is, you guys are just gonna have to read celebrity stuff for the next couple of weeks (I'm sorry!), but come summer, I promise, my content will get better. Hopefully, that "little project" will be done right after finals are over. My cousin plans on coming to San Francisco during that time; I'll make her help me out.

HELLO: Man, I'm too old for this.

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 1 comments

It just occurred to me how LATE I am getting into the blogosphere.

I'm 21 years old and I've had this blog for about three months now. It's got a moderate size following, and I'm okay with that. I didn't expect to be come a hit off the bat. I've had personal journals before, but it was more of a blogrant than anything informative. I'm not even sure that counts.

Today, I logged on to Google Reader (which is a GREAT rss feeder, btw) and discovered Style Rookie, or Tavi - The New Girl in Town (I don't know...). She's gotta be in, like, sixth grade or something! She camera whores with her friends and it's her with her friends, all miniture, well passing for fashionistas! She's even got more traffic!

I couldn't believe it! They all look fabulous and I love their motifs. It's so creative. I think to myself, why couldn't I be more like that? I guess I just don't have the energy anymore.

All of a sudden, I look in the mirror, and I feel old. Sigh.

WHAT THE F?: How NOT to wear your make up!

Monday, April 21, 2008 0 comments

My cousin has sent me some pictures of girls with overdone make-up. Some of them were on the border line of being okay and being hideous, but some of them were just horrible.

This one surpasses any picture she could've sent me.

Jenna Jameson promoted her new comic book "Shadow Hunter" at Comic Con in New York on Saturday. And that's not all she promoted.

By sporting such hideous eye make-up, Jenna is promoting how not to wear make-up. Girls, pay attention. I'd hate for you to go out looking as horrific as her.

Oh dear god, I feel like her eyes are upside down. I can't stop staring.

WHAT THE F?: Or should I ask... What the DUCK?

Catherine McNeil is on the cover of Numéro's April 2008 issue, photographed by Greg Kadel.

I really do like the cover, but I have an issue with the headgear McNeil is sporting. Seriously? A duck?

What's up with recent headwear lately?

YUCK: Umm, Mary-Kate?

As much as I love this girl, I don't get her fashion choices sometimes. I wonder if she has any mirrors in her multi-million dollar apartment. Hmm...

If I would've known being a superhero meant looking like this, I would've joined the Justice League sooner.

Is it bad that I totally wanna bust out a Wonder Woman costume right about now?

SHOPPING: Silver metallic python gladiator-inspired sandals by Michael Antonio

, Sunday, April 13, 2008 3 comments

My need to expand my python collection has been met.

Today, my boyfriend bought me an amazing pair of silver metallic python gladiator(-inspired) sandals. I tried my hardest to not give into gladiator sandals, but it was love at first sight. Never have I felt such a connection to a pair of shoes. I laughed when I read about people being obsessed with their shoes, but tonight, I join their club.

I haven't figured out how to wear it yet. I'm thinking about playing it safe for its first time out. Maybe faded jeans and a white tee? I don't know. We'll see!

WHAT THE F?: Sex and the City blow-up dolls! Introducing Sarah Jessica Porkher!

Any guys out there ever fantasized about having sex with Sarah Jessica Parker? Well, thanks to Pipedream Products, now you can!

Pipedream Products have come out with a collection of celebrity blow-up dolls, including Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker Porkher.

If that's not enough, the collection includes more of Hollywood's favorites like Jennifer Lopez (Booty From the Block), Christina Aguilera (Dirty Christina) and Lindsay Lohan (Lindsay Fully Loaded).

After being voted Maxim's Unsexiest Woman Alive, I didn't think many men would wanna have sex with a blow-up SJP. Oh well.

If Pipedream Products doesn't sell out of these dolls before Sex and the City: The Movie's May release date, I might snag one for myself to take on shopping trips! I would probably have more use from the doll.

Haha, is it bad that I would totally have cocktails with her? Two Cosmos, please!

FASHION NEWS: Nina Garcia & Elle break up!

, Friday, April 11, 2008 0 comments

Could it be true? After months of speculation, Elle magazine has parted ways with Nina Garcia?! Yes! My dream job has finally become available. Too bad I'm in no position to apply for it.

At a dinner with Moschino celebrating Simon Doonan's new book, "Eccentric Glamour: Creating an Insanely More Fashionable You, Garcia was missing. Could this be the big hint?

As of right now, we're not quite sure. Neither Garcia, Elle editor in chief Robbie Myers nor a spokeswoman for Elle could be reached for comment.

The arrival of Joe Zee at the beginning of 2007 as creative director has fueled rumors of Garcia's departure, which was already buzzing around for months. Garcia showed up to her office on Friday morning, but by the afternoon, the rumors were flying stronger.

If she has indeed left Elle, I plan on calling them tomorrow morning for info on the job position. You think I have a shot?

I'm in Southern California at the moment and for some odd ball reason, my boyfriend's laptop won't connect to the internet. DAMN IT. I was looking to spend hours on the computer, but unfortunately, that won't be happening.

Hold tight. Updates after my 21st Birthday on Sunday! Yay to alcohol!

HELLO: I'm ashamed.

Tuesday, April 8, 2008 1 comments

I'm sorry. I am truly ashamed I haven't updated in so long.

In the past week, I've considered deleting this blog, but then I realized that it was yet another thing I wanted to quit. My resolution this year was to quit being a quitter and I intend to do it.

My boyfriend and I were brainstorming ideas in which I can make my blog stand out. I came to a blank. (I feel like everyone is doing everything that's different already.) He told me to keep an open mind, do what I do best and write what I know about. He knows nothing about fashion or blogging, but truly, he gave some awesome advice.

Anyway, here's what I wore today.

My brothers are staying with me for a week so I brought them to Ocean Beach for a little running around. My brother told me he wanted to be a photographer so I let him have my camera and he snapped this picture of me.

You can't really see how well my outfit is put together, especially since I'm not wearing shoes, but I assure you, it looks good in person!

WHAT THE F?: Think Carver from Nip/Tuck.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attend Hollywood Stylist Estee Stanley's wedding wearing white masks in hopes they could trick the paparazzi and be able to low key to the streets. They failed.

If it wasn't for Ashley's super sharp shoulders, the entire party, who was also wearing white masks, would've gotten away with it.

Next time, they should try something not so obvious. Damn those shoulders, Ash!
